This bag rocks. I used it for a 2 week trip through Cambodia. I got lots of compliments from other travelers. I decided to go with the larger 25 model, which is not a carry on size. I made it my mission to pack light, and when I checked in at the airport it weighed 25 pounds! I was so proud of myself! I used the detachable backpack as my carry on.
I also purchased the packing cubes which I found to be very helpful. I debated their worth for a while before making my purchase, but I'm so glad I did. They kept everything organized great.
If you're going anywhere where you may need to carry your bag up stairs, through dirt etc... go with this bag. The majority of the time I used it as rolling luggage, but there were many times when I needed to throw it on my back and it was such a great feature. If you're going need a backpack all the time, you may want to go with one without wheels, because I imagine that would be a little lighter. But I only needed the backpack feature on occasion, but I did not find it heavy or uncomfortable at all.
The bag is constructed well, looks great, and I was very pleased with the service/price/and shipping from luggagebase. When my traditional rollerboard suitcase that I use for carry on wears out I'm going to buy the smaller model to replace it. That's how much I love this product.
