Fine quality. A tad heavy, Aug 14, 2011
Reviewer: Andy Lewis of Dayton, Ohio
It is a great system in concept. Perhaps it is a bit clunky in reality,in both the zip-off bag and the carry on. I have an Eagle Creek 22' backpack and got this for heavier loads when traveling( books, etc.) and for those times I need to transfer from an airport to a bus or train-- a rolling carry-on is a pain when going through the streets. The internal space of this bag seems much smaller than in my other 22" back pack or my carry-on ( both E.C.). Be prepared to carry much less if you expect to pack it like your other 22" bags . At least it won't be on your back most of the time through airports though.
It would seem that it is more engineered to be comfortable on your back than as a carry on bag with space concerns, but conversely is heavier than one might want for the tare of his or her backpack. If one wanted a backpack for most of his or her travels, one would have the backpack as the bag isn't sure what it does.

Well made, Worked well, Nov 28, 2011

I bought this bag primarily for a 2 week trip to France. It worked well, and with thoughtful packing fit all my needs. The main bag rolls well and serves as my main bag, while the smaller backpack worked as your other allowed "briefcase/bag" carry-on. It also serves as a great daypack.
My only complaint is that some of the zippers seem to catch on the interior lining material. I have been able to get them unstuck without tearing, but have needed to use a pliers to get the job done.
It is going to Istanbul and Turkey with me this spring.
