"I recently purchases a 22 inch Tarmac based on very positive reviewed as well as ratings by different companies such as Consumer Reports. Also needing a larger checked bag, I ordered the 28 inch of the same model. While the luggage may be functional and well designed, this bag was just too big. It may be okay if you are traveling for months or taking lots and lots of clothing, but for normal multi-week overseas travel, it was just too big. Returned it and purchased a 25 inch instead. Recommend reviewing the cubic inch calculation listed on the website before ordering to see what you really need."

"Took this on a two week trip through the Amazon rainforest staying at multiple lodges. Came back without any damage or scratches. Definitely appreciate the light weight, durability, and general high quality craftsmanship. A few design flaws though as noted below."

"I bought the Tarmac 28 after having the 22 for over 2 years and simply loving it. Even tough it's not a hard shelled suitcase it is super sturdy and I can always fit more by taking advantage of the flexible material and the super high quality zippers that seem to be able to take a lot of tension. The bag is everything I need and I think the higher price tag is worth it since it will last me for many trips/years"

"We ordered two 2013 Tarmac 25 for the first time from this dealer. One came in with defect so I called up the following Monday to complain. I was apprehensive about any hassles associated with the return and exchange process. Well they listened attentively and made it no hassle for me other than re-box the defect one and return it via Fed Ex using the pre-paid shipping label they emailed me. The new suitcase arrived five days after the call in excellent condition. I was happy. "

"A great bag. Replaced an older, heavier Travelpro. Was initially a little concerned about the soft side construction, but this bag traveled three weeks through India with me, on and off boats, trains, and buses, and it performed wonderfully. Others suffered broken wheels and difficulty pulling their bags over rough surfaces, but the wheels on this bag are tough and make it easy to roll on any surface. Very easy to pack..I used the Eagle Creek packing system which maximized space and minimized weight. Managed to stay under the 30 pound weight limit for in country Air India flights. I paired it with the matching International 20" Wheeled Carry On. The buckle system to attach the smaller bag was a little awkward, but allowed both bags to sit firmly on the ground with no tipping when stopped. Will be ordering another for my husband, who insisted upon dragging his old Travelpro on the trip but now wants one like mine!"

"In my work, we are extremely limited to just over 30 lbs, for EVERYTHING on the helicopter flight to the ship off coast of Brazil - so weight is critical. However, rugged durability is important as well. After much research, I chose Tarmac 22. It has the perfect combination of features (pockets, quality zippers, good wheels, sturdy handle) and durability.
It would be perfect if it was a little lighter. However, lighter bags I researched and inspected all appeared to be much less durable - lighter fabric, crappier zippers, un-reinforced corners.
I think the Tarmac 22 is the best choice for wheeled carry-on.
The people at Luggage Base gave excellent service. Bag was well packed, and arrived on time. Price was about 25% less than buying locally. I will buy from them again."

"This is the fourth one of these suitcases we have ordered. They hold a lot more than the 22" but don't feel as enormous as the 28".
We bought one for each of our children, for when they fly home! And one each for us when we travel overseas.
We like the coat attachment, pocket for computer or reading material. Easy to roll, and light weight to lift.
I bought this for my husband for his retirement trip.
